Robert Flower went home to the arms of his heavenly Father on March 23, 2025.
Bob was born on January 14, 1940 in Granville, NY the son of the late Lewis and Irene (Sawyer) Flower. He was a graduate of Granville High School and served 4 years in the USAF. Bob was a hometown boy in every sense of the word. He graduated from Granville, worked in Granville, he married a Granville girl and together they raised the family that they both loved so much…in Granville.
Bob worked for NYSEG and retired from there after many years. At a young age, he knew he wanted to preach. He gave his first sermon at age 16 and by 20, he pastored his first church. For many years he served as pastor for the West Mountain Community Church, the Middletown Community Church where he became Ordained and most recently the South Granville Congregational Church. He would be a guest preacher for many area churches over the years.
He was a founding member of the Granville Rescue Squad and after retirement served in the Honor Guard at the Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery in Schuylerville, NY. For many years he marched with the Cambridge Marching Band, especially when 3 of his grandsons marched with the band with him. Mostly, he loved being with his family.
Bob was predeceased by his beloved wife Patricia (Roberts). He is survived by his children Michael Flower of Fort Edward (Marianne Gamblin) of Queensbury, Dawn Tucker (Paul) of Fort Edward, and Duane Flower (Jennifer) of Argyle. He was blessed with 7 grandchildren, 9 great grand kids and a great, great grandson. He is also survived by his brother, John Flower of Long Island and many nieces and nephews.
