Representatives of our Honor Guard teamed up and marched down Schuylerville’s main drag in the 27th annual Turning Point Parade on Sunday, August 7, 2022. On a mid-90s, sunny day 5 members marched in front of our washed & detailed Honor Guard bus commemorating the American victory at the Battle of Saratoga on October 17, 1777, during the American Revolutionary War.
Honor Guard participants were: Ernie Dreimiller (Driver) / Bill Leahy / Jay Ogden / Al Wells / Dennis Gaspie / Don Boone.
Similar to last year and despite the excessive temperature and full sun, the 1 ¼ mile parade route was packed with attendees and so many expressed their appreciation of our organization with applause and “thank you for what you do” compliments all along the route.
Another component of this event, and one normally not noticed or acknowledged, was prepping the bus for the parade. We seldom take the Honor Guard bus off-site, but when we do, we realize these events are great opportunities to highlight and publicize our organization. Showing off our own Team Bus is such an honor so a few Tuesday Squad members took to the hose and Dennis Gaspie’s pressure washer and gave our bus a good cleaning.
The ”wash detail” included: Skip Dwyer / Art Knorr / Ernie Dreimiller / Frank Merrill / Don Boone.
