This morning members of our association formed together to provide a fitting send off to about 36 worn and faded, unserviceable American Flags following the protocol set forth by Don Boone and other members of our Executive Staff.
The ceremony was led by our Commander, Art Dutcher, and the Vice Commander Don Boone. Our Cemetery Director, Scott Lamb and his staff provided the burn barrel and oversaw the actual destruction of the used flags. Our Color Guard, led by Gary Squires posted the colors, then the flag disposal script was followed.
Robert Sellar was the Chaplain and Dave Bullock was the Sergeant at Arms. Tim Forbes was the Bugler who played To the Colors in the ceremony. Marty Allen led the Monday Squad who acted as the flag bearers, opening the flags then ceremoniously lowering the flags into the burn barrel. Another fitting ceremony well done.
