Bud Pendrak

Albin J. “Bud” Pendrak, 79, passed away peacefully and comfortably on Saturday, August 12, 2023, at Saratoga Hospital, with his family by his side. He was born March 18, 1944, in Saratoga Springs, NY, to the late Albert and Mary (DeGrechie) Pendrak. Albin graduated from Schuylerville High School in 1962 and Adirondack Community College in 1996. Following high school, he served his country proudly, in the United States Army, serving during the Vietnam War. Bud was a military professional, serving as staff administrative assistant to the commander, retiring in 1988 with 23 years of active service. He remained active during his retirement, serving on the Saratoga National Honor Guard.

Bud was a master woodworker and enjoyed creative woodworking, it was truly a passion. He served for over 50 years in the Schuyler Hose Company, as well as fire investigator for the Saratoga County cause and origin team.

He worked at Sandy Hill Corporation and then served as business equipment technician at Sperry Univac as well as an insurance investigator for Equitable Life Insurance Co. Throughout his life Bud was active in the Old Saratoga American Legion, Knights of Columbus, and Lions Club. He married the love of his life Sharlene (Goodrich) Pendrak on May 24, 1969, together they had two children. Bud was always serving and helping others by sharing his knowledge. He always had a positive outlook on life and made a huge impact on the community and those he touched.

He is survived by his loving wife Sharlene Pendrak of Schuylerville; daughter, Pam (Keith Harney) Pendrak of Apex, NC; son, Jay Pendrak of Schuylerville; grandchildren, Isaiah, and Alysa Harney of NC; sisters, Joy (Lee) Bandy of Morgantown, PA, and Penny (Bill) Durrin of Argyle; many nieces and nephews.
